1. About the service

Kapwa Wallet ("Kapwa," "we," "us") is a digital wallet and remittance service that lets Overseas Filipino Workers fund a wallet by bank transfer or card, and send money to the Philippines by bank deposit, GCash, or Maya, with cash pickup coming soon. Kapwa is currently in a pre-launch, waitlist phase for most corridors; availability, fees, and delivery methods may change before general launch.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.
  • You must complete identity verification (KYC) and pass anti-money-laundering (AML) and sanctions screening before sending a transfer.
  • The service is available only in corridors and to residents of countries where Kapwa currently operates. We may decline or limit service outside those corridors.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials and device secure, and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately at contact@kapwawallet.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Sending money with Kapwa

Fees and exchange rate

Kapwa charges a flat fee, shown to you before you confirm a transfer, and passes on the real mid-market exchange rate without markup. The exact amount your recipient receives is quoted at the time you confirm the transfer; rates fluctuate with the market and are not guaranteed until confirmation.

Delivery methods and timing

Delivery times shown in the app (for example, near-instant for GCash and Maya, within 30 minutes for bank deposit via InstaPay or PESONet) are estimates, not guarantees, and can be affected by your recipient's bank or provider, verification checks, or events outside our control. Cash pickup is not yet available and will be added as a delivery option in a future update.

Compliance review

We may delay, hold, request more information about, or decline any transfer to comply with AML, sanctions, or fraud-prevention obligations. We'll aim to notify you when this happens.

5. Prohibited use

You agree not to use Kapwa for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, or sending funds to or from sanctioned individuals, entities, or jurisdictions. We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably suspect a violation.

6. Cancellations and errors

A transfer generally cannot be cancelled once it has been sent to your recipient's bank, e-wallet, or delivery partner. If you believe you made a transfer in error or to the wrong recipient, contact us immediately — we'll do our best to help, but recovery isn't guaranteed once funds are delivered.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kapwa is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including delays caused by third parties such as banks, payment networks, or delivery partners outside our control.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account if required by law, if we suspect fraud or a violation of these terms, or to protect the security of the service. You may close your account at any time by contacting us, subject to completing any pending transfers.

9. Regulatory compliance

Kapwa's Philippine peso payout rails operate under applicable Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) regulations, and our sending-side operations comply with the funds transfer regulations of the countries we operate from. Identity verification is performed with Sumsub; funds are safeguarded using Fireblocks custody infrastructure.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app before they take effect.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction from which your transfer originates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have.
